I was alerted to this last night. WHOA!!!
At last we can see it working ('cause I’m sure a lot of us had also thought about this plenty of times).

Nice, enabling more dummies to paddle, I mean motor out. I’m still waiting for them to install a ski lift tow line at my break so I can just be pulled into the lineup.
That’s so incredibly, horribly LAME. They should be banned from being within 100 miles of actual surfers.
I'm trying to come up with the appropriate punishment for anyone who ventures within a mile of real surfers on that motorized SUP.
A. Beaten to within an inch of life?
B. Stoning??
C. Tar & Feathering???
D. Fed into a wood chipper????
E. A, B, C and then fed into a wood chipper?????
the lifeguard in the rescue vid is jason shook.
use to be a seal beach guard, but moved on to solana.
the board(s) would make a great fishing board!!!!!!!!
keith..........now that the board is a jetboard(motorized) it would fall under the water craft laws............correct?
where are the cf #s...........those people are breaking the maritime laws.
you also need vests ,whistles, etc. to comply.
and you can't be within like 100ft of swimmers or other surfers.

That really makes some sense. I'm surprised they don't have a kelp guard over the intakes.
I might be okay with it for somebody missing a limb but otherwise:
Dang… And here I was thinking it’d be nice for those days when the current is so strong most people can’t paddle hard and long enough to stay in position… Other than that… I suppose sitting on a lawn chair on a long board, with a cold one in hand, and catching a ankle snapper could be interesting…
Please remember - at most spots up this way over a hand full is a crowd, so the complete fuckedness of kooks motoring around the line up is not a concern… Granted, not many care to see the SUP. I thought the jet and paddle was a bit redundant…
I second the motion of having the lawn chair on a longboard but instead of a beer I’ll take a six pack and the wave would be waist height Chicama…
Be alright if you lived near a lake. In the surf, well, if you had a problem with them, some cheap n nasty fishing net stashed in your wetty, released at the right time may well solve the problem.
Umm..... broken leash.
Hey Taylor, totally true, those who live and surf in packs might not see the possiblilities but I can see three breaks that this would work in.
Yeah, on a SUP is kinda stupid.
Kendog and I have been scoring solo sessions down here, says up your way has been poop.
I guess as the years go by the new applications for this will become evident. Things we’re not even imagining right now.
We will see.
it still needs cf#s or you're breaking the law..............and it's a steep fine, that can include jail time.

i still think it would make a fine fishing board !

Stoked for ya S.H. - Must have some good South wind spots in your neck of the woods.
Good point about broken leash.
I didn’t read stuff on the site - but I wondered how long it would run, and if you could turn it off/on with ease while out in the water… Heck, I’m gonna look right now.
The **15-pound **motor is controlled with a remote control system in a wristwatch and can be removed
So much for HPSB… HA!
Powered by an integrated twin-lithium ion battery pack, WaveJet is capable of 20 pounds of thrust, has a continuous run-time of over 30 minutes, and recharges in a standard wall socket. 2 to 3 times faster than paddling a surfboard,
Well, at 30 minutes it wouldn’t be much use for maintaining postion very long - I suppose, given the wristwatch remote, you could “motor” into position when a set showed up, but there are time here when you’ll go 40-50 yards in less than a minute, and in a few (Ah, how I’ve seen so many “unknowing” drift down and in only to take the next set on the head and in…) minutes you’ll be so far off you’ll be to far inside for even the motor to help… To be honest, after a long session I’ve often given up on fighting for position and drifted off to an insider and in…
Well - no pricing info. But apparently I learned something new… Steve Walden, father of the modern longboard,
Not being a long boarder, I have no opinion, but it’s funny to me, that’s a name I’ve not heard thrown around - But I think I recognize the name “Walden” Walden estimates he’s personally shaped more than 20,000 boards, and in 2004, he teamed up with** Global Surf Industries** to distribute his shapes and expand the Walden Surfboards brand worldwide.
GSI… Ah ha… No offence to Mr. Walden, but I think GSI is one of those “Asian “pop-out”” type deals…
Anyway - now that I’ve blown my mental research wad… Ha!
When I’m to old/worn out to paddle any more… I’ll sell my car and soul and “motor up…” Ha!
