Webber Mini Fish twin fins?

does anyone know where I can get my hands on a set of the fins Webber is using on his Mini Fish model? The crazy-tall, flexible and red twin fins to be exact.

thanks in advance,

kirk

I was talking to a local shaper about them a week or so ago. Apparently they dont like to make them as they are dangerous!!. They are pretty nice looking, and wow are they thin and flexy at the tip. Pretty deep too. One of his customers likes them so much he just bought a 3rd pair so he can leave them in his boards. Reckons the manouverability is unreal. Also, the shaper told me they are hard to get, and like $150 aussie dollars, which i guess is probably 100-120 USD??.

Maybe try ringing FCS??

Beerfan’s on the money. I ordered a pair via e-mail from Webber’s fin maker. The cost was about what BF said. Shipping wasn’t that much more. I think the total came to about $175, about $50 more than I had in the board! I got the benefit of his trial and error and some tips on fin positioning from GW hisself. The board in my avatar is the one I put 'em on. Those are fins I made in the pic. The ones he makes are less rakey and more inside curve. Probably laid up on 20" pipe, I used a Sector 9 skateboard as a mold. FWIW, my fins, being more rakey probably hold a little better on turns, but his, having more inside curve seem to have more drive out of turns, which equals more speed!

surfthis,

can you pm me the name and email address of the fin maker?

kirk

Will do, let me find the email they sent me.

Anyone got any contact info on the webber fin maker? Trying to source a set. Pm’ed SurfThis and Kirk

Mahalo in advance

Hey Mate i got these for 20 dollars from the fcs factory in mona vale. not sure where your located but id assume they’d have a whole heap left down their. sure beats paying 150 bucks like others have. Mahalo knowaloha and zackoopman. Exploring both options. Will see what fcs says. $20 a pair sounds like deals.

Zackoopman are you close to the fcs warehouse?

Airboy, I just sent you a PM. Found the email address, it is (or was) thelaminatorpl@aol.com

Mine were larger than "zackpoopman's" fins with inside curve and three tabs because of the size. I'll say this, if you can get the fins I got for anywhere near the price "zackpoopman" paid, buy a few sets. After foiling 3 or 4 sets of inside curved fins, there's no way I'd sell them for less than $75 each. However, if FCS is making them now, they may be molding or foiling them using CNC, then I can see how they'd go cheaper.

Airboy about five minutes away. might also add that i got them on sale, not sure of their usual price. Also I heard greg webber say that he was going to put a link on his page designated for fins… soon. Maybe you could email them and ask

you SCORED , big time , Zac !

so....how do you like how they ride ?

I tried on the demo mini fish at the local shop , at least a year or so ago now , but I was waay more keen to try them in one of my boards ...

I might have to send you some money for a few pairs if they are still that cheap , as it would cost me $100 to make a pair for myself ...and I would change them anyway [copyright etc]

  cheers

Hey chip, havent really put them too to much use as yet, i put them in my 7’6’’ pin tail and was sliding all over the place on 4-5 ft faces. Ive never ridden a twin before so it was abit of a trip trying to figure them out. In the end i just popped my single fin back in. Seems to work way better for me. As george greenough says 'the best thing about two fins is to keep moving them closer together until they become one fin" clearly not a fan of the dual fin setup haha.

Happened to stumble across a friend today who knows greg in palm beach, and he was demoing a 6’9’’ webber mini mal shape, that was super refined, stubby nose with a diamond tail and very thin. It was sporting the same fin template but hand foiled versions. and it had a small center fin also, which looked almost like a small keel/moon fin on a mini simmons, quite hard to explain as ive never seen something like it.

p.s can go down and see if they have more stock if anyone needs some ??
