wet cloth

hi all, need to ask some advice regarding wet fibre glass cloth. my garage flooded about a week ago and i have just realised that my roll of cloth is soaked. i am assuming that it is now useless, but if anyone knows otherwise please let me know -it was about $200 worth so i would like to slavage it if i could. tim.

Wow…sorry to hear that. I’ve never had it happen but if it did happen to me…I would try and use it but only on a board that I was going to do a heavy tint or opaque. Otherwise I would think you would see water stains and irregularities.

Howzit tubetim, Bummer but not necessarily the end of the roll. If there are no water marks then just let it dry out real good and it should be fine. Back in the 80's I was doing some repair work for Rick Holt and neede some glass rope for fins. All rick had at the time was some glass rope that the shop cat had peed on, it smelled but it worked fine for the fin repair,it was just a little yellow.Aloha,Kokua

…first time you ever wore gloves to wet out the rovings, then , was it , Kokua ??

moral of the story …no cats allowed !

Howzit chip, No gloves but definitly wore my respirator for the stink.Aloha,Kokua

you’ll understand if I shoot you a “shaka” , instead of shaking your hand , if I ever meet you then , Kokua !

I heard cat urine has a half life of 25- ? years , or 20,000 surfs or washes …whichever comes first…

for insurace ?

perhaps a little ironing might drive out residual moisture

get an iron from the salvation army

use your moms iron and ya might get clipped

cut the length an theb give it a slide

test batches are revealing…
