Any tall thin riders out there? I’m 6’5" and 165 – seems like my wetsuit sleeves and legs are just a little too short, so I’m constantly tugging them back over my gloves & dealing with leaking booties.
Any of you with similar issues experimented with a custom suit; or are there any gloves/booties out there that are quite a bit longer than normal, to solve this problem. Brand names, please!
I am fairly certain you are going to have to order a custom suit to get a proper fit. I am 6’2", 175 and there are few off the shelf brands that fit me. Most of the big name suits are made in Asia now. They may take custom orders, but be prepared to wait a while. I think your best bet would be a small shop that makes every suit custom. There are a couple places like this here in Santa Cruz. Maybe there is a similar shop in New England.
i stumbled onto a place in New Jersey not too long ago that did custom made wetsuits, but i don’t recall the name. browse around and see if you can find it…and if i stumble across it again, i’ll let ya know.
Hotline will still make you a custom in Santa Cruz. I tried on the off the rack hotline Medium-tall and it was a little big on me but i bet it’d be too small for you still. (ripcurl medium-tall fits me perfectly though at 6’, 150lbs.)
Call Freeline at 831-476-2950 they handle Hotline suits and several other lines of rubber. Ask for Tara or John. If they can’t help you directly they’ll put you on the right track. There’s a place on the west side they’ll refer you to if they can’t help you. The guy make custom suits all the time.
MT is the size, but Oneills are a long ways shorter than Hotlines.
I tried a ST just for fun last year, and at 5’10" x 153 lbs., the suit was waaaaay too long, at least 4" in the legs and a couple in the arms…Quicksilver.
