What are parallel rails?

Boards described as having parallel rails never seem to look like they have rails that are “an equal distance apart everywhere”. Then they’d look like a tongue depressor. So what makes them parallel?

So what makes them parallel? Parallel rails is a misnomer, but the wide point is very neutral, with nose and tail widths not being much different. A described in an earlier thread of wide point back, this gives a definite breaking spot in the out line.
