What are resin tints????

Sounds like a silly question, right?

Seriously, what is in the bottle of tints.  Odds are its something real simple like a common dye dissolved in a common solvent of some sort.  Any ideas????

Anybody…crickets chirping???

Common dyes as you say, but those common dyes particles are actually held together by really small dwarves. Some of them are good-minded, some of them are not. For instance, many of them have been known to facetiously turn the darker, brighter Ferrari red into Barbie pink…

Sounds like a good question to me…

Tints are additives to resin that leave a see through or semi transparent colored laminate… Opaques are additives that  cover up the underlying foam core more than tints and are far less transparent if at all…  Each can be a powder, paste or liquid…

Anyway… I saw this a few days ago on here…  I  can’t remember the original post title or the kind gents name who posted it…

I guess I should say I'm after the magic formula to create my own colorful concoctions to add to my resin for colors.

So nobody has a home brew for making tint that they'd like to share????

You can add a little gelcoat to your resin for tint… Stop by and I’ll give you some…
