What are you working on? Post your current project here.

Hey Bizgravy, very nice outline.

I notice you’re using the 7’2" Walker blank for a “rocket-fish” outline. Isn’t it a bit overkill? I use them for eggs, mainly.

Hey Balsa…thanks!

I’m just getting comfortable using the planer to clean up my outlines and realizing that it’s definitely the way to do it. And for the 7’2, i was just drawing an outline on it to get a visual. I plan on doing a flat rockered, tail flip with some V singlefin on that one i think, somewhere in the 6’9 range.

a couple of current projects, chambered 8’6" balsa just glued up (chambering all done), and a 7’6" for a local firefighter, just started sanding it…

I think i’m in love with both, Keith… Can’t wait to see those swirls in all their beauty under a nice gloss…

I’m working on my first HWS. It’s a 5’8 keel fish. Still have a ways to go in cleaning up the lines…

I hope the thing surfs!

Best wishes,

Timmy B

Just finished a 9’6" longboard-gun:

Balsa,

The gun is awesome. Unfortunately we don't have the waves to support building one but we can always dream. Here is Austin's latest project. Not quite the gun shape.

  • 1951 ford

  • 350 chevy engine

  • air bag suspension

  • nova front end

  • S10 rear end

At least its not the 20,000 lb fire engine he use to be working on.

Thanks for your kind comment, too.

Hi Reverb, here is the original template, with widest point definitely upwards:

Hey Balsa,

Here is the picture I promised you about Austin's first purchase! A lovely red shade.

No unfortunately its not a joke he really bought it. We were hoping to convert it to a delivery vehicle but when we got into it the truck had so many wires that we thought it was a bigger undertaking than we wanted. The good thing was that we were able to turn a little profit on it. I have to keep Austin off of Ebay! Anyone want one of the 15 rockwell, porta-cable, or skil planers hes hording?

Troy

delivery vehicle, that’s a tad uninspired.

why not…interior converted to mobile shaping shack?

Surf travelmobile?

Marine Mammal Rolling Rescue?

PS Stash of planers…Who would do that?

I havent posted in a while, here is one for you guys i started last week.
