9’8 noserider. Arctic foam white and blue swirl. Pretty happy how it is going. Its laminated and the fin is glassed on.

Hello Trevorn, Is that the Artic foam with the Swirl in the foam? Care to comment or compare the foam to other brands? Artic had a booth at the Del Mar Surf Expo. They have a warehouse in Oceanside....I might try one of the swirl blanks in 2013.......Ray
ya Ben,
had a dinged up set laying around. thought id only use one tab but the template allowed for both, so eh, should be stronger.
I can only get my hands on Artic foam so it feels just like a normal white blank from them. This was the first time I’ve ever encountered a bubble in the foam just under the skin when shaping. Not sure if that had to do with the color being mixed in or not. It was near the rail and almost shaped out. A tiny spot where I glued in foam is visible in the final product.
Once you shape it and laminate it looks so cool. I’m getting pretty excited for the final product. Well worth the extra 10-20% extra cost.
Two weeks leave so off we go mowing foam
Made myself a new replacement 6’ 1" x 20 x 3 Rocket quad for points and a 5’11" x 20 1/2 x 3 pocket quad for beachies n mushies …
Next up will be to colour and glass em, this will be my first time experimenting with the dark arts of glassing so it should be fun ‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’
Quad 5’3" x 21" , vee off the tail and single concave bottom.
Chined forward rail , testing this to see if it will enable the wider planshape to go from rail to rail easier etc without rolling the whole entry
Mini inspired small wave craft, pulled in tail version:
yes the chine is the way to blend the belly. looks real good
cheers huie
Nocean- I’m intrigued by the full length chine. My favorite longboard ever had chine the front third. I also remember back in the stinger days, some boards with full length chine. What’s the thinking there? I’m thinking release. Also, smaller planing area at high speed, more volume at slow (paddling) speeds. Perhaps a little nose riding benefit keeping things above sea level.
Those cloth panels also look smart. What are you using?
Anyways, great work.
nocean that one looks siiiiiiiiick!
Working on my Halloween costume–Breaking Bad Dad. You guys have most of this stuff all ready and can use it after Halloween for shaping Bad.
I helped a friend shape his 2nd board today, fun but we went for a poopey blank easy shaping and looks. It looks a little cheesy right now.I have been using EPS for a long time now and was hoping to avoid the evil creeping spackle.
x2…can’t wait for the answer. That board looks fun!
5’10 x 20 5/8" x 2 1/2" “Sim-Up”. 16" tail; 16 1/4" nose. 4 1/4" nose rocker; 2" tail rocker. Inspired by the 5’6" simster I made and loved in small surf. This one is the “step up” from that; pulled in nose and pulled in/round tail. Very mild single to vee. Kwick Kick over US Blanks 6’0"R. 4S bottom and double 4E top.
