Im working on this board for myself right now. 6’10 mini gun, 18 3/8, 2 5/8, nose 4.25", tail 3.0", hard rails transition just before leading fin toe, ofishl sm’s, 6+4 top and bottom, epoxy.
Ski, 3" tail rocker for 6’8" ? I ran that some years ago and felt a loss of projection off the bottom. Made the late drops well if I remember correctly.
Are you building for a specific wave? Interested in how she rides. Mahalo, Arnold.
Hey screwfoot,
i am giving the tail rocker a 3.75" because i wanted it to catch waves easier and i surf in michigan mostly. The boards I have ridden seem to catch better with more rocker on the lake. I am also working with a board im am currently riding that is a 6’2, it is similar but im just trying to strech it out a bit.
some input is always appreciated though, what do you think of this? more or less? our waves are pretty flat with some peaky pier break on occasion. Other than that its pretty much like slower sand breaks on the ocean.
.
A 6’8 mini gun for Michigan huh? Consider me following this post.
Seriously, do the waves there ever get over head high? Do tell/show.
Board looks good though.
ill refer you to the site for a video that was produced by my friend and director Vince Duer. Http://unsalted.tv or more specifically http://www.unsalted.tv/unsalt1a_soon.wmv
the waves are usually pretty tame but on large storms we usually get 4-6ers. In the winter and late fall we usually get a day thats at least 10 on a day or two.
the mini gun is just the closest thing i can find to call what im making, i guess some might call it a rounded pin big guy shortie. anyway, im just trying out streching a board i really like.
i also travel alot so i get to try it on some nice waves as well.
should be done in a bit. ill post how it is
anyone else have some input?
i just put in the single nose and double speed concaves in the tail
