what ever happened to S.A. East?

Hey everyone, I was wondering what had happened to scoping out places for the Swaylocks East meeting? I know you can get to the outerbanks now, at least as far as buxton/frisco. If someone wants to scope that out, me and Dennis (in VB) would be glad to help. I’m even open for traveling around a bit. Just wondering… --dave

yeah, what’s the situation with rt. 12 down thru the dirty south?? i need to get down there soon…

Since I take responsibility for stiring up the idea for S.A. East, and trying to organize the event, Iam still waiting to hear from guys that are suppose to scope out sites in the outter banks. I believe that Pete Harwood was going down there on Columbus Day (weekend?) and was to report back to us about possible sites. Any in put from anyone is welcome. It seems as if talk about the event has slowed down a bit but I feel confident that the issue is not dead. Sometime in late April or early May seems to be a good time. As I said before I need your input and some help to get this thing off the ground. I can be reached at Keep the spirit alive!

Frisco campground great camp ground cheap, you can have 2 tents 2 cars and four people on a site there huge sites, and beach acess is only a short walk away. they also have a beach acess for 4x4 right outside the main gate to the campground. They are open till Dec 1 this year i believe.

Frisco’s the place, the Sharks are smaller there.

id be up for a road trip. heck if there are people around jax, fl that would like to follow along the path, let me know. when do we want to set the date???

Right now we’re looking at late April or early May. Frisco seems to be the place.

Awesome Late april early may in frisco is like almost bare back. Perfect time.

Well I suppose October is now out due to: less risk from devestating hurricanes, still not too many tourist in May, and Phil’s vacation schedule. A lot less risk from hurricanes. Probaly a better time to get the cooperation of local board builders since they won’t be surfing all the time. Mosquitos may show up, but that’s part of the Hatteras experience. The local economy needs as much support as possible. Avon, Rodanthe, Buxton, Frisco… looking forward. PhilD: I’ll email you to see how I can help. Rob Olliges

Just for the record the May date has nothing to do with my vacation schedule. I’ll probably take a couple of days off because of this event. When you teach for a living your vacations are dictated, not chosen. I really don’t care when we have this thing, lets just do it! Can’t wait!
