Getting a 3M full facemask and wondered what cartridges I should get for poly resin? 2000 series? 7093? P100? 6000 series? Thanks.
That’s a good full face respirator. I downloaded the PDF manual and checked the various cartridges available. For polyester resin (styrene and MEKP) you want something that filters organic vapors. Unfortunately the specs only indicate “certain” organic vapors without specifying which ones.
It is important that you read and fully understand what the proper use of that mask entails. There is a nose cup that is to be used in certain situations. It looks like you will need some kind of air pump? Give a call to 1-800-243-4630 and ask questions. Tell them what you will be working with and they should know. Also ask about the air supply requirements.
Get the yellow cartage, it will work just fine. You do not need an air supply. You do need to make sure your mask fits you correctly. You may want to get yourself a fit test kit. They do not cost much and that way you will know for sure. Keep you mask away from your work area when you are not working, ie: put it in a ziplock bag. Date your cartages, and change them out every 6 months or so. The VOC cartages will stop working after awhile.
Howzit 220, The cartridges you want are the 3M 6001 organic vapor cartridges and get the pre filters also, they are only about $3 for the pre filters,Aloha,Kokua
