What is the name of the surfboard that is super thin and sometimes clear, single fin??

Is it a knee board, I saw a pic of one at a video on the fish fry? It looks like it’s got some regular dims around the rails and nose but in the center and tail it looks like a couple layers of glass.

Ron Romanosky makes them, and darned if I can remember who it was, but I saw some other shaper in the past few months who also does them.

I haven’t checked to verify, but I think there was a thread back quite a few years ago in which Paul Gross details making a velo, the one which he swore would be his last (they are insanely labor-intensive). It might be in the archives.

didn’t Surferguy800 (i think that’s his handle) make some recently?

Ryan… somebody… ???

i saw a pic of Keith Malloy riding a flexspoon standup

Ryan Lovelace.  Had a chance encounter in a Goleta lineup with Ryan two or so years ago; he was riding one of his prototype comp-sandISH boards (not sure how they were really constructed).  Paddled over to him to ask about the board and immediately made the swaylocks connection.

That would be a Greenough type “Spoon”. It is a kneeboard.

that picture of keith is him riding some local beachbreak on a paul gross made spoon-a true replica of greenough's beloved velo spoon. was pretty blown away when i saw keith standing up on that thing for sure!

Jeff McCallum...

I want one of those but I guess one has to be light weight and I am 215lbs.

Carl Olson post a full on construction and ride report thread a while back.

I think Josh actually has one, haven't seen him around for a while though.

 Wake up hodads!

They're not always kneeboards and there's an entire website and forum devoted to 'em!
