What kind of stringer is this?

I’m really liking the look of this stringer, and will probably place an order for a 10’ Walker blank with something similar. So I’m thinking it looks like a 3/4" or 1" balsa or bass stringer with a dark colored T-Band? AArrrggh…Don’t know why pics suddenly stopped working for me, as did inserting a link. Whatever, here’s the address to the picture I’m referring to:

walker stringers chioces are bass, cedar, or balsa

Uh…Yeah…? So I was wondering if that appears to be balsa or bass, and if those side stripes are simply what is referred to as a “T-Band”, or are they small strips of would on the sides of the “main” stringer?

looks to me like 1" balsa + 1/8" cedar T-band

soulstice nailed it.

Souilstice has it right but the Center strip looks a bit thinner than an inch. Maybe 3/4".

If ya order make sure to ask for the darkest cedar they have. Nothing worse than lightly colored cedar.

i dunno, man…i’ve got a pretty good eye…i put my money on 1".

should we use a lifeline and poll the audience?

I think we need to break out our protractors!!!

Drew

not nearly accurate enough…we need some laser scanning device of sorts…fortunately, i keep one with me at all times…just in case.

ball bearings…

it’s all ball bearings these days

If someone computer literate enough clipped off one of the 1/8 inch cedars and put in into the center stringer you could tell how many would fit and how many 1/8’s there are. my guess is still 8/8’s

Rough estimate supports Drew.

I got a fiver on Soulstice.

I already proved it so pay up.
