Guys, Take a look at what the mad man Bufo has done…
This could blow your mind.

Do not try this with your standard constructed surfboard.

Just trying to keep swaylock’s family friendly… but the possibilities for comedy are endless… a board that stiffens as you pump it… nah, nevermind.
Clark,
besides Bufo showing how to add compressed air into the board, is there another demonstration that would show how flex is affected? Like some basic flex test that can be demonstrated, seen and felt while the pressure is changed? Something other than taking a gamble by buying one. Thanks.
Don’t want to be sceptic, but sounds also like delam control?!
Can you also ride over it with an offroadbike?
In other wordsss: HOW DOES IT WORK???
What happens in the board that is so special?
These boards won’t be able to tolerate a pinhole or a crack. Also, what happens when the foam compresses and you inflate the skin right off the deck?
I believe that the glass is shot into the foam so it creates a mechanical bond to the foam.I am sure they had to have done alot of research before making the step to bring it into the hands of the public.Lost is selling them on their website.I would like to try it to see if it could really be felt.It could be a winner or a loser for sure.
in holland everybody love the bufos
you should try one to see if you like it, a nice biolos shape!

cheers
The first thing I throw into my travel bag when I'm going away is a bike pump and a pressure gauge.
I lost all train of thought when I saw those reef girls from behind.
Daren
I was thinking yesterday that a bladder sandwiched in the foam, like a springer, could work even if the shell got compromised. Of course, that would add weight.

Not yet. Putting a bike pump to a board only blows the board.
Why not show actual demonstrable results (flex response change) rather than just hype?
another blow out?
** i want the one with reef onit

forget the boards being able to tolerate pinholes and cracks...my wallet probably wont be able to tolerate the board...new technology is all well and good...but at what cost
The questions:
What in the board do you blow up?
How does it stiffen the board?
Is the board still strong enough wrt breaking force and leaking of air?
If I get a flat tire, can I repair it in the jungle???
PLEASE SOME ANSWERS!!!
Thanks!!!
I have been in Puerto Escondido all week and havnt had e-mail. If a board has damage it leaks like a tire. You are able to identify damage from air bubbles it will not take in water due to the pressure. It can be repaired once it airs out just like a regular board.
When the boards are inflated the tension on the skin is tighened. Think of a stringed instrument, the tension affects the feel the flex the vibration.
It works.
Road bike innertube imbedded in the foam somehow? Those handle lots of pressure. Cool idea. Clark since you seem to have access to these can you set one on a shaping racks with a good amount of weight on it (100lbs?) so we can see it flex. Then as you inflate or deflate we should be able to see the change in stiffness. Can you video and post or ask the right person to do so? I personally really want to see that.
Don’t know about the board but did you see the clip of Curren? Sweetest bottom turn in the business (frontside or back).
ive got a new technology for you
“excercise”
it will improve your surfing no end
I will get some shots up asap. The boards do not have a bladder or a tube inside. The foam is able to digest the incoming air and transfer it throughout the board. It takes some time to load. I will see Bufo today and will have him give me some tech. data on flex change.
This technology is the real deal. It is much greater than surfboards. The aplication has potential to be used in windmill design and there is talk that it will be used in automobile frame and body construction. We will see.
If you are in Los angeles and and would like to take a look at a few board. send me a e-mail. Bufo is setting up a factory in Oceanside California as we speak. He would love to go for a surf with people who what to see the boards...
Hey Silly,
Did you read that, you have to walk with windmills and Bufo will surf with YOU!!!
But remember to practice before you have someone take the photoos to prove it!
