Im new to this site so sorry if theres already been a topic like this.
What planer do you use? (power)
I use a Ryobi Mini Plane thats blue the reason i use the mini is because im only 13 so this plane mows foam without being uncontrallable.
i also use a hand plane for the rails (im not that exprerienced with shaping rails) its one that my old great gramps made when he was in high school (its a really old plane but bloody good!)

I have a Skil 100 and a Clark/Hitachi, I mostly use the Clark. I wish I had started shaping at age 13! Good for you…
In AUstralia the better power tools (my opinion only ) are made by makita that is what I use how ever a mate of mine has got a black and decker that is pretty comfortable . I reackon go through the shelves at the hardware store and see what is comfortable for you . also see what other shapers are using and go off that , but asking is the start. Good luck I wish I had started when I was 13.
