if ya cant put ya name on what you publish then your basically a pussie
if you cant own up to what you say or who you may have hurt or offended then your basically a snake
some of us just don’t want our real names on the internet. Some of us have jobs and employers who we simply would not want to know what we do outside of work. It’s not about pussy or snake, it’s privacy. I don’t want to imagine my boss telling me to make a board for his kids for example, or colleagues getting all “wow that’s cool” and hanging out at my workshop…
Nope, I like my privacy. Wanna know who I am, just PB me, but I don’t want my name on a web page.
Yes. There it is.
Now as for people calling people “pussie” or “snake,” it’s the internet, innit? You get all kinds.
But I’ll be darned if some potential friend or employer is gonna google my first and last name and decide I’m a jerk because I told a couple of downunders (for example) they ought to get on some personality-reducing medication, without all the context!
You listen 'ere you pesky downunders. I’ll godamm lasoo you all up, hogtie ya, and force a personality reducing suppository up where the sun don’t shine if ya don’t start showin respect to ma future employers and former beauty queens tryin ta track me down.
Holy hell it sure is a queer world we live in ain’t it.
Anon.
LOL!
What a lot of life really boils down to is your credibility and own good name. It’s about the only thing you’ll take with you when you die. You shame yourself and your family name it is hard to regain that trust and credibility. Put your name on it and you may have to accept responsibility for what you say. I can’t imagine why anyone’s boss would care if your hobby or other job was building boards. Unless, your boss was a board builder and your sharing his stuff on the net without his knowledge. I have a hard time taking seriously the comments of anonymous people on this site with the exception of those I have met personally or confirms what I have already learned. Most posters on Internet forums have very little credibilty anyway. Me included. Without your name you have NO credibility. Mike
With all due virtual respect, Mike, you know my name like I know yours. For all that any of that’s worth.
I smiled out loud when I read your comment that you’re only giving credence to commentary or advice from people you’ve already met in person or that matches up with what you already think!
; )
greg
sounds like a wee bit of paranoia there
why dont you take a pic of that H.S. diploma, majoring in woodshop , of yours and post it…

get a mullet up ya!
nb. the snake comment was in relation to people that are overly hurtful or mean or aggressive or nasty
and i stand by the pussy comment

that really gets my goat
shit i didnt know about the spy ants
another thing to worry about
Horses of a highly-strung nature were often accompanied by a goat (or a sheep). It was a way of calming a horse down, especially a thoroughbred horse before a race. See horse problems. The legend has it that rivals and crooks deliberately betting against that horse, would steal the goat, resulting in the horse being upset and less able to race. Such practices are uncommon these days (see bookmakers), although it was said to be common in America in the early 20th Century.
2. There is an old French phrase “prendre la chèvre” which also means approximately “to get your goat” or “to take away the goat”. Various places suggest this is because in old times a person’s goat would be their only source of milk, so they’d be understandably miffed if someone took it!
The most common story to explain the phrase relates to horse racing in North America and to the common practice of putting a goat in the stall with a skittish thoroughbred racehorse to help calm it. Enterprising villains capitalised on this by gambling on the horse to lose and then stealing the goat. A substantial desire to suspend one’s disbelief is needed to accept this story at face value.
and you all thought i was just shagging them
actuall speaking of goat shagging
a guy in nelson got arrested for shagging a goat
did the time
hooked up with same goat
got busted and told the judge he loved the goat
thats bad
but nowhere near as bad as the kiwi dead bunny rooter
now that was some wierd shit
it was in sydney i recall
Hi Greg,
My statement was what I learned. Not what I think. You and I have chatted via PM and I think I have a good feel for the type of human being you are. I read and consider your post. I like you and consider you a friend of sorts. But really, you and I do not know each other at all. For all I know you can’t even swim, let alone build and ride a surfboard. You can say the same concering me. But, you can check my profile, check me out. I’m pretty easy to find.
I’ve read some pretty specific board design recommendations from people I have seen surf. Many of them pretty average pilots. Like me. How would they know? If it comes from a guy like Barnfield, Coletta,Thrailkill, I pay close attention. It doesn’t mean I follow lock stop and barrel. It means I consider what they write very carefully. About the only analysis you’ll get from me is I liked the way the board surfed. That’s it. And that means the board let me surf the way I liked to surf. When I hear something that sound like bullshit and I check the guys profile and it’s empty. I consider it bullshit and move on. If a guy like Barnfield posted something that sounded like bullshit I would have to consider it very carefully. Make sense?
I really don’t have any strong opinions concerning surfboard design and construction, anyway. Again, because it’s all so subjective. And I think everyone out there should do what they want regardless. It’s all about having fun and sharing the stoke. Nobody is ending world hunger or bringing piece on Earth by building and riding surfboards. Goota keep in all in perspective. Mike

You’re such a fool and that comment about the H.S. diploma majoring in Woodshop only proves it. There are many people here on Sways that make their living from the skills that were taught in Woodshop. Please keep your ignorant comments off of this board! The moderators really should step in on stuff like this.

I have to agree. But calling someone paranoid after they just made a cogent description of why they post anonymously is definetly
an insensitive provacation. A provacation that I neither encouraged or solicited by anything whatsoever in my original post.
Look at it from both sides of the aisle.
If you take the remarks personally, then see them in the context between me and silly only!
Besides I have a H.S. Diploma and took wood shop.
