What's the Difference Between These Two Fins??

Making a 5’9" fish about 3 inches thick. Pintips are about 11" distance. Here’s two fins, what’s the diff in terms of performance?

Gephart Wood Fish Fins - small

base: 7 1/2" / 19cm

height: 5 1/8" / 13cm

the fin with more base should have more drive. the one with less base and more depth will be looser.

Given the close dimensions of both fins, any performance differences (IF they existed) would be very difficult to recognize. My vote would be for the one with a little more depth. Soulstice is correct in theory. I just think the differences are too small to be significant. Go with the one that warms your heart.

The straight backs are old style…way down the line fast, section makers:)!The newer ones are more compromise, very cool too…

Both fins toe-in 1/8"? Cant maybe 4 degrees?

Or no toe-in and no cant?

If speed is your need… no toe, no cant.

5’9"–no toe & no cant, they are double foiled…think 2 pintails at high speed trailing edge 6inches from tips

WOW. this has got to be pretty much the most consice (sp?) answer ANYONE has ever gotten lol.

That ive seen anyway.

both fins = sex
