however i certainly wouldnt show that video to someone that i was telling how good fishes ride.
none of the guys showed the speed you get from fish. id say 77 % surfer error, 23% board issues.
just watch the fryed fish experiment instead. its much better.

they are all at different levels
its not a high school test
or a competition
there cant be any error
the videos that show how good a 6 2 chip rides use pro level surfers
no one else comes close in speed and ability
its a great marketing tool to let us old guys outpaddle 18 year olds
and has nothing to do with how the boards actually ride
old shapers sell boards too small for young guys so we get all the waves
and they fall for it

im personally pretty tired of all the fish is fast raving
they so great ill wait 17 months for the best darn fish made my blah blah
cause such and such said they were the so incredible thats why blah blah surfs them in comps.
the only high performance fish surfing ive seen is on hybrids by pros
in cranking hollow waves
all a fish does is make little waves seem like they are better
if its overhead and hollow you dont see to many in the lineup

Fat guys on Fat boards…on fat waves. Looks about right to me
Change any of those variables and get more performance…start with the Fat guys.
Looked to me like the guys had taken up surfing later in life, hadn’t been at it for very long and lacked the intuition that surfing and living with the ocean from very young gives you. I see a lot of surfing like this in Cornwall from incomers who fancy a crack at the surfing lifestyle. To a man all the people I know who surf well started young. Maybe it’s similar to the way that children can learn a second language far easier than adults, something to do with developing neural pathways I believe.

its just not relevant to board design or qaulity
