When your glass supplier F’s you in the a55. It says Volan on the hand drawn wrapper. Glassed it today for a client with a nice cut lap and it is completely clear like water white.
I had the opposite, expecting silane treated E-cloth and got the full antique Coke-bottle treatment. This was from a general composites supplier not surfboard-specific. Started explaining to the guy the next time I called about clear/silane versus green/Volan/chromate and the guy didn’t know much about it. To his credit, he educated himself later and reported back that he did indeed sell me Volan glass. It was a personal one for me so the customer wasn’t too disappointed…
