Where can I buy a nice flexible laminating squeegee?

I bought a laminating squeegee from foam EZ. It works pretty well but its a little too rigid and small. I was wondering if there were any sites that can sell a bigger more flexible one. It will definitely speed up my laminate job. I heard you can cut the squeegee I have to conform to the shape you want but again it looks a little small to do that. Thanks for any help I can get.

Howzit tg, Is it a Thalco rubber one that is light tan in color. First off you have to let it soak in acetone for a couple of days to get more flexible and you can cut an inch of the length from the top ( I used to do that) which will make it even more flexible but once you soak it in acetone for a while you have to keep it in acetone forever or it will turn brittle and is of no use. "Rubber" kitchen spatulas taken off the handle have been working great on my amature projects. Buy them at the .99 store, grocery store or restaurant supply.

Howzit GTFD, I can see the advantage to using those since they have a thin edge on them. Aloha,Kokua

tgp,

Check out Surf Source and the "Whiz".  I think its a modified Thalco but it works great!

Aha!  Just ordered the Whiz squeegee from surf source. Dave D great call. Thank you.

On the East coast it's Surf Source and Greenlight.  What you can't find at one you can at the other.

I got mine from Tap Plastics if you have one near you. I think they are online also. I was also in a store that sells professional level automotive finsihing products Finish Masters. They had a number of squeegy sizes.

Just posted on your other thread. Experienced and am trying to overcome many of the same issues you are having with laminating. Just for kicks try a large yellow plastic bondo spreader. It's all I use now and they are cheap, I throw mine away on Poly and wipe them off and reuse them on epoxy.

woody1962, I feel your pain. Im driving myself crazy with this stuff. All the small problems in laminating grow so fast if you they’re not tended to when they first happen. Sadly I believe thats the one and only thing I know for a fact about glassing. On the upside though, the squeegee I bought from surfsource works outstanding. Its long enough to push the resin and cover the board in literally 2 strokes which gives you a lot of time to work the cloth and cover your laps. Although I am new to glassing, I definitely recommend it. I glassed 5 boards with it already and did not have one problem with it yet. Very flexible too.
