WHERE DO I PLACE THE FIN on a 6'7" teardrop pintail single fin?

I am attempting to build a 6'7" teardrop pintail singlefin, any ideas where to place the fin and what size/shape of fin i should use? I could go with a box but I wanted to glass it in.

I would put it on the bottom of the tail, in that area. My last board worked out ok so yeah, on the bottom, towards the tail more so.

 

 

 

I just checked, I installed the 10.5 inch box 6 inches up from the tip of the tail.

Go with a box.    Sometimes as little as  1/2 inch change in fin position, will make a dramatic change in the quality of the boards performance.

in my haste i made the tail so dang thin that i cant put a box…gotta glass it in…im committed now…
