where to surf dec/jan?

you'd have to check rental car prices but i think you could do California for $1200 with plenty left over...

you said you're not aposed to sleeping in a car, there are plenty of great campgrounds up and down the coast.

Dec/Jan is a great time up here in northern california... sometimes stormy but always some swell and even

when we get Mavericks swells, there are spots tucked out of the way that aren't too out of control... there are

some crowds but they are easy to avoid if you are willing to hike a little out of the way... you could also avoid

airline fees by buying used boards and selling them when you leave. shoot me a pm if you

want more details...

thanks for the thoughts guys, there is obviously a whole heap of stuff to think about!

im just about to find out about a possible job for november installing some artwork in the palace in Bahrain so the should earn me plenty to cover the flight side of things.

i had a quick look on craigslist last night for secondhand vans and i might even be able to squeeze to buying something cheap then reselling that too!

i reckon if i came over id be wanting to pick up a board shaped by a local then bring back to uk with me

chrisp pm n its way

Hi surfingdog,

Big Sur is beautiful and campgrounds empty in winter.  It will probably be wet, though.  There is a projected El Nino which usually means lots of rain and big surf.  The campgrounds in California are safe as long as you store your food properly to keep the wildlife out.  I apologize if I gave the impression this is a dangerous place.  It isnt(with a few exceptions that are easily avoided).  Americans are generous and friendly, in general. That includes the people of Salinas. Mike

British Virgin Islands.  PM me and I will share.  A little bit.

Hey, I’m pretty sure that the Sultan would love to have a few precious wood surfboards stacked on the walls here and there. 5000 Euros per board on a 20 boards basis. Is that a deal?

lol, i know i would love that!!

ill have to take my portfolio with me just in case! and of course id need some help…

deal

cheers for the advice Dlock, ill let you know how i get on

If you are willing to drive I think a road trip along the coast of France, Spain and Portugal would be one hell of a trip. I don’t know how much it would cost, but you could also cross over to Morocco…
