Where ya from?

Hey chipfish 61, Can’t say that I know Ryven Grant. I was still living at Whale Beach on Sydneys Northern Beaches in the 70’s. Did’nt move to the Central Coast until 1989.

Avoca and Copa are both popular spots. Both have point breaks. Avoca is pretty soft, but Copa is a sucking left that comes from deep water onto a shallow ledge. It has had me pinned on the bottom a number of times when I was living and surfing there. platty.

Originally Rockhampton , then Mackay for 12 years now central QLD coalfeilds soon Agnes Water.

did you ever surf L.A ?

my brother Simon and his mate Dave Webster [a kneelo, as well as a standup charger!] , and ‘marsupial’ surfed little av through the early to late 70’s… they all lived in Av then. Simon was “Tracks” photographer from about 1975-78, from memory…

I only surfed LA on a handfull of occasions, I mostly surfed the Wedge, South Palm Beach and North Av. Went to school at Barrenjoey High. I do remember a guy called David Webster, not shore if he was in my year or younger.platty.

Dave would be about 48 now , I’d be guessing (if that helps)After he left school [when I met him], he had a mo and he looked kinda like a blondish version of the guy from thin lizzie, if you know who I mean…

I’d figure he would have done his H.S.C in about 1974 ?

Les Blundell and Jed Tate also would have probably done Barrenjoey too… any of those names ring a bell [like a lot of northern beaches/ peninsular surfers at the time, they were also mad keen soccer players… you too ?]

okay, I'd better not hijack this thread any longer... sorry guys !

Hey, I am from The Atlantic City area, of South Jersey, grew up in Mays Landing, live in Estell Manor now. Work at the Trop.

As the name says- Long Island. I haven’t shaped in a year due to me buying a bar in East Islip.

Hey folks! why don’t you all put this information in your user profiles? A lot of times people ask questions (where can I find one of these _____?) and if everyone could look up where you’re located, you’d get better answers right away.

PS LongIslandTom - you probably don’t need to!

Brilliant!
