which blank and flexy tails...

Hi All

Double post…

1st) Which clark blank can anyone suggest to make a bigger fish, say 6’4 by 24 by 3. Ive just finish a 6’1 by 22 out of a 69a and although the measurements should allow a bigger board i doubt i could squeeze much more (width) out of it. the main area of concern was the area from wide point to the pins on the tail and keeping the rail line straight enough.

2nd) since finding the joy of making my own boards i have been toying with making something with a flex tail, deep wide swallow tail to loose the stringer and then thin the pins out as much as possible. How thin would i need to go to get the tail to visabley flex and what could i use to laminate it with to give it spring and strength. Any tips - many thanks

and a ps…

how much does the top edge of a rail shape around the tail / fin area have.

i understand the bottom edge in principle and the rail has volume, but from the release point / edge upto the deck - does it do much?

many thanks for all the help
