First off thanks for existing! I’ve been sponging off you guys for the last year or so and loving it. So I’m planning on starting my first board soon. Thinking 9’6" 18, 22.5, 14ish with a fat stringer probably 3/4". I’ll be using 2# EPS with 2x6oz E glass all around with a 3/4 6oz deck patch. So the question: RR 2020 or 2000. As a side note, has anyone tried to improve flex by using a less flex epoxy in the center of the board and a more flexible epoxy at the nose and tail? Or would this just be a bad thing? (No I’m not gonna try it on this board) Thanks again. Eric
i lam with 2000, and then hotcoat and gloss with 2020 for better ding resistance and shine.
I’d just go with the 2000–get to know one resin before you start experimenting with others…that layup schedule sounds good for a bombproof, light board, the single layer glass layup will be flexible enough in nature so that you don’t need a flexier resin–flexier hot and gloss coats do improve impact and scratch resistance of the surface, however…
