I am not trying to blast anyone here…just an honest curiosity: why are the Joel Tudor surfboards not shaped by Stu Kenson sold at a very fine surf shop in SD being sold for nearly $700 while, seemingly the same, or very similar custom boards shaped by Stu are sold for nearly $200 less? are people actually buying them? is it the brand? the colors? the overhead?
Obviously someone is buying the boards at the inflated prices or he couldnt continue to sell them at that price. Over here in Hawaii they are snapped up by the Japanese visitors who are used to paying twice as much. Basically you are paying for the name and image that goes along with the name.
Explains it well. Thank you. Good for Tudor Franchises.
