I’m new here on swaylocks or any forum for that matter. I’m very interested in Dave Parmenter’s widow maker fin set up. I have seen previous posts, but nothing concerning the performance of the set up. Any information would be outstanding. I’m stoked to have found this cache of information. I ran spell check like the directions suggest for posting. Funny what words it kicked out as misspelled. swaylocks!! Stoked!! HAHAHA…
If you’re looking for one.
Sidestreet says there’s one on sale right now at Cippy’s shop on Kapahulu… Check their website (Hawaiian Classics)
It’s 2+1 concept on a mini-gun design seem to be made for certain types of waves… Long thick beach breaks, I don’t know if they’d work in real hollow stuff. The side bites would probably affect dirty the water flow a pure single would get you in a real curvy face like in a deep tube.
You know kind of like a single fin drive with some extra help from the side bites… I don’t thinks the sidebites don’t do much more than assist a bit in the turning you’d probably still spin out like you do with all single when you’re way up on edge. Nothing postive like a quad, thruster, or even a big twinny.
I am putting side bites in a 7’0 single this afternoon. Going for the widow maker style set up. The waves I am targeting with this board are wide open faces on beach breaks. hope all goes well.
