I have posted a bit too much about indo boards in the past and realise it might be annoying but
Im really thinking about buying a 6’3 TL2 stretch F4.
I already have a 5’11 which is great in 2-4 foot waves, but when it gets hollow and jacking takeoff i feel i need length
to get me paddling quicker into it.
some POSITIVE reasons im thinking about a 6’3 TL2 are-
-I like my 5’11 and have many sets of good Futures fins, i can use the same fins on both boards.
-DURABILITY, it will be a good wave board in indo. hopefully for many years. I like hollow waves but still have a lot to learn as far as boards are concerned.
-Same shape as my 5’11, if it gets too big for 5’11 wont take much to get used to a 6’3
-
TL2’s have much better flex, float, refinement and feel etc than TL1’s
-
I like twin keel fish too, and these boards are almost somewhere between a fish and a shortboard. (less weird styles in changing/getting used to a board)
-I like quads.
-i like swallow tails.
-Dont have a board between 5’11 and 6’6
-5’11 feels a bit too small sometimes. especially in barrels. (late takeoffs) sometimes too responsive too- rail bites too deep and i get flipped
maybe more.
Negatives that im worried about-
-Too much volume?
Im 70kg, 5’11 and like a bit of foam but maybe the 6’3 will have too much float? especially in chop or wind.
However i can get barrelled on my Mal and well volumed fish in good waves. But will i bounce around in size on this thing?
-Windy days. It probably wont handle wind being so light. Thats ok, i have a longer 6’6 pe/pu board.
-Price, its pricey, that money could pay for a flight home(maybe two). But i dont have a 6’3 or any board between 5’11 and 6’6.
6’6 will be for bigger waves or wally points.
Boards taking on this trip- (6 months maybe longer- not moving around much- so can take many boards)
5’10 twin keel with pulled in tail. (20" by 2 1/2)
5’11 stretch.
6’6 rounded pin quad
- 6’3 stretch?
This is a last minute post, im pretty sure i will buy it, just wondering if theres too much volume for 70 kg in a shapers oppinion. (32-33cc)
