I’m about to glass a board (I’ve done it before) and I may only have access to a wax-added polyester resin. If I laminate with this tack-free resin and sand before my hotcoat, will it compromise the structural integrity of the board? Will the hotcoat just flake off? Thanks for the advice
you’ll have to put it on thick or you’ll sand into the weave…or…if you are really good, somewhere in between gel and kicked you can do your fill coat (hotcoat) and the wax will still be in enough of a suspended state that it will rise to the top of the second (fill)coat, takes timing. can be done. but if you let it kick and sand then hotcoat, if you leave any wax it’ll be a mess. that’s what I tink. good luck.
your asking for hours of misery. you need some lam resin.
