Wood Blank or Something!

I am interested in building my first surfboard, now I am not interested in glueing balsa or any of that fancy stuff, I would like to get a good piece of wood and create a board that would be a fish style but I want to have a thick board say 4" or 5".  Give me some ideas, nothing complicated boys and girls lets keep this KISS!!.. Its my experiment!

I hope you will consider chambering it and reducing the thickness…There is a limit to useful weight and what you suggest will be too heavy to be anything other than an experiment…

If you want fast and easy given your criteria, buy a wood GluLam as your blank…
