Hey all, I have a quick question regarding glassing wood fins that I made. I’m going to be glassing a fish with epoxy, but I havent bought the resin yet. I’ve cut and foiled my fins, and have some left over poly resin from a previous board I did. My question is: could I use the left over poly resin to glass the fins (not to the board, just the fins themselves), then go about lam, glassing on the fins, and hot coat with epoxy? I dont know, nor have I heard, what happens when you use the two materials together in this way.
try and (do) keep the media’s the same (compatable)
Some guy with a wild hair in his ear told me that…Hmmmmmm!
I use poly over wood most of the time that I make wooden fins. It’s no different glassing epoxy over this than it is to glass on regular fiberglass fins. Just make sure and do good prep work prior to glassing them on.
