I’ve been toying with the idea of making wood fins for a fins unlimited box. Has anyone out there any information on how to go about doing this. Some of my questions are what thickness should I start with for the wood? How many layers and what weight of glass should I use? Is there anything else that I should be concerned with. I have made glass on fins before, but have never made removable fins. Thanks
If you won’t tell, I will. Everybody - Paul has very generously agreed to contribute to the Swayaholic’s Anonymous Raffle not only a couple of his super fly wooden fins but an ultra bitchen Purple Heart laminated skateboard deck, a totally custom rail marking tool and a hand made thickness caliper device. These items must be seen to be believed. Paul is the most detail oriented craftsman I’ve ever seen!

Paul, I’m sorry that I have not seen this fin thing before, but I like it. It looks like it is what the world has been looking for. I have almost all of my fins glassed on because I feel that there is less drag. I have had Rich make me a fin that is a little thicker because I feel there is more area to set the foil. You have solved the problem. GREAT WORK. You the man.
