I made a custom chambered stringer from basswood and redwood that has delamed at the nose and tail after laminating. The topgrain soaked up too much PU resin. I did a shellac cheater coat that worked great on the rest of the stringer, but I didn’t account for the top grain soaking so much up. I’m thinking to cut out the glass from the nose and tail and do a layer of epoxy then patch it over before hotcoating. Is ts the best course of action?
Try covering end grain with superglue. Should seal lovely. Cheers rich
Have you considered drilling a small hole in the spot of the delam and then taking a needle/syringe full of resin and squirting it into the delam spot. Once filled with resin weight the area until the resin is cured.
