It may be a bit thick at the back of the fin. We use a 7" sander to foil fins. Need to take away all that meat towards the back of the fin and blend it.
The wood work is nice. However it would be shame if it got glassed without the correct foil?
my girlfriend Karen was so stoked to get the fin for christmas! below is a pic of it installed. the base sticks out slightly but i wanted to keep a nice chunk of wood for stregnth.
hopefully she can get it out over new year for a ride report!
thanks to all of you for all the help and stoke over the last year, especially Kensurf, Larry and Robin at probox and fasbaslardass!
hope you all have had a merry xmas and all the best for 2009!
you could have just glassed the base if you were worried about strength. Sweet looking fin, but all that work and it sticks out like that??? REalllyyyy???
Measure and slice off the bottom and make it flush…come on now.
i can see what ur saying… i just put 2 of my other fins in and they both stick up a fair bit too, i guess when i installed the box i set it too high up.
