Would this board be a good noserider?

I have a picture of a board that i’m considering buying. I really only want to use it for noseriding. It has knifey 60-40 rails.

Judging by the outline (since I don’t have the dims of it), do you think that it would be a good noserider?

I want a board that is a really great noserider, I don’t care if it can’t turn well. It is the Channin CL2. It says it is an all-around board, but I sort of disagree with that judging by the outline. Tell me your thoughts.

Bearing in mind JLW has a JoelTudor 9’2"er, we might need to know it’s dimensions, especially the nose width.

One thing for sure, if you put a honking 10" swept noserider fin on, it would ride great with you perched on the nose.

Well the thing is I’m in the market for another good noserider because I really wanna do all those hang-heels and go up to the nose and then walk back switch-stance, all that cool stuff (watch Sprout, that’s how I want to surf).

I can hang-5, and recently when I put my 9" fin on my Tudor all the way back, I’m able to hang-10. But I can’t do all the fancy stuff like walking backwards or doing switch-stance hang-5’s and all that stuff. I know 90% of it has to do with the rider, but I was thinking if I had something like a 9’9" or a 9’6" PURE noserider, it would at least help me in my efforts a little bit.

I’m thinking of following your advice, Lee, and just getting a huge fin, and setting it all the way back in the box.

If that doesn’t work, then I’ll save up this summer for a Nuuhiwa Noserider, the ones by Tudor.

So JLW, the board will be able to make you hang heals and reverse walk the board? I thought years of experience was what determined how these feats were learned, but maybe I’m wrong

Experience helps…but so does another foot of boardlength and a bigger rear fin. Stop limiting yourself at 9 feet. A 10’6" will open all kindsa doors. And use a 10+ inch fin with a lot of width…

I wrote in my previous post, “I know 90% of it has to do with the rider, but I was thinking if I had something like a 9’9” or a 9’6" PURE noserider, it would at least help me in my efforts a little bit".

Read carefully.

Now, back to the original topic.

Blakestah, you’re probably right. I’m gonna get a bigger board for sure. That board that I posted a picture of is only 9’4". I’m thinking of getting something at LEAST 9’6".

with the (what to me seems like a trend going longer and longer-10’ now being the standard-i would definitely go with more length(at least you’ll be able to get some waves!)
