I had an idea of a single to deep double concave/vee out the back quad.
I was thinking the deep double concave/vee could mimic a middle fin a la bonzerish kind of set up, except without the middle fin.
Any thoughts?
edit…something like this

Depends on how you contour it…but not to deep on the holes…you can get a good center runner w/o the deep concaves.

I did that on a 5’7" x 21 x 2 3/4" keel finned(flexy glass on), fish-style outline, but with a squash tail that was about 8" from tip to tip. The ride report is that it tracks a little in smaller stuff, but it’s real drivey, but loose, in juicier waves up to a few feet over head. The rider, btw, is a 150lb 20 year old. I believe the quote was “Sooo different!”
yeah, it seems it would be a bit “tracky”
Been doing single-to-double concaves on 4-fin boards for years. Best to keep 'em not too deep and bring it back to flat at very end of tail. The ones that have worked the best run the double concaves in a moderate vee, with the deepest part of the concaves concentrated directly under the fins via a fluted wing. Swallow tails and rounded pins both work well with this configuration. Happy surfing and shaping!
