Do you guys think XPS in a TimberFlex build out would work?
It seems that a few guys on here have the XPS thing sorted out. What if you bagged veneer on one? Would that further help the XPS delam issues?
I read on here that a rough finish on a XPS blank is important. That would work well for bagging on veneer .
The hydrophobic advantage of XPS is a very compelling reason to keep it in mind.
Guys?
Don’t make me go build one…

Yup, done that with no problems in SF with the cold and foggy weather. Gary Young has done them for years now.

done it. very stiff and rides very squirely. kind of a mysterious result and im still working with the board after shelving it for a year. bamboo is hydrophillic. pound for pound xps is stiffer and more springier than eps. when you break a big piece in half it sounds like a gun shot! a very interesting material. it would be my first 'experimental' choice but cost and availability are problems. eps is too easy to pass up.

I was born and raised under a blue and white flag with a daily dose of khaki
blue is one of my favorite colors
blubamboo-veneer and blucypress-veneer are others
blucedar-veneer and bluspruce-veneer is indestructable but heavy
blupaulownia-veneer is the probably best
ride is the closest to PU in “feel” (personal opinion) of all the “( )PS” attempts at imitating Grubby’s genius
I like the sound of a stream of water from a hose banging against a sheet of blue
the pinging sound and beads tell me everything I need to know about its benefits
at a minimum blue rails for EPS ding safety
