XTR Delamination?

I found an area of delamination on the bottom of my XTR board. The bubble is roughly 2" X 2" and is right up against the rail and fairly close to the midpoint of the board’s length. My question is if anyone has any experience with how quickly these areas can deteriorate if the board is still surfed. The reason I ask is because this is my main rider for a trip this week.

The next question is how high the success rate is for repairing a delaminated XTR board? Obviously I’d prefer to tackle this job after my trip when adequate time is available.

Any advice is appreciated.

If you have time grab a syringe with some epoxy in it make small hole on either end fill delam until epoxy comes out the other hole wipe it clean lay a piece of plastic(cling wrap etc ) over the top and put two house bricks on it  will take about ten minutes.

Then if needs be fix it properly when you get back from your trip.

Or if it were mine I'd just ride it.

Are you kidding??!   What XTR delamamated!!????

HOW COULD THAT BE!!!!!

You can just poke a hole thru the glass. The foam is waterproof!

I did this with my XPS board, it works perfectly.

This way, it won’t delam more.

I tried that syringe trick, but epoxy is to viscous, it didn’t work for me.

Hans youre right,

Sounds like the first windsurfboard I made, also XPS,

there is still a hole in the bottom, looks weird to let the water come out by putting it on its tail.

I love the face of the other windsurfers looking at the water running out after a session.

Board still holds together! Complete bottom delam, bad quality foam.

That’s a great idea. Thanks!
