Hello, I’m trying to identify the shaper’s signature and year of this Gordon & Smith Classic 8’6” board

I’m not sure of the shaper, but it says’86 under the signature.
On second thought the 86 might be the length, although lengthens are usually written in feet and inches. Such as 8’-6”

Larry Mabile, he had the lease for G & S for a few years in the 80’s to 90’s ?
About the length and the way it is inscribed; large 8, small 6. Sort of like you might do dollars and cents. $8.60 or large 8, small 6 or 60. Just a different way of doing the same thing. Also eight point six or eight and six tenths.; 8.6. There would have to be some other series of #’s indicating year built. By the looks of it and being somewhat knowledgeable of the years Larry Mabile has been well known; as mentioned 80’s or 90’s. Although that “Egg Rail” is a 70’s thing. The Bahne fin box was in use by 1970.
