He's channeling his inner Owl !
Ben that looks trippy. Anyone that has taken acid will probably know about looking in the mirror and seeing those big pupils.
Glad to hear you’re getting better. We had a nice south swell and I spent about 8 hours in the water over 2 days. My eyes are really tired and sore. I’m using your 747 style fins on a quad SUP. Not catching waves, my daughter and I are trying flat water SUP.
I gave my daughters friend my yellow quad board to play with and it has your fins. He told my daughter that he really likes it.
Take care, Harry
great stuff harry , that’s encouraging …
Both look good to me... compared to before... glad you are well.
So Ben, all said and done, what was the offending matter? Was it fiberglass? While using a grinder? Just curious as to present some "prophylactic" measures as it were. Best of Luck and Continued Healing. Tim B.
hi 'T ' !
well , the opthalmologist said [and website[s] have confirmed!] that they never 'really know EXACTLY what causes it " [IRITIS , the guy informed me , it's called ]
certainly , wearing goggles to protect the eyes from fibreglassing VAPOURS doesn't hurt , I reckon ...
[not to mention ....mask , and FULL PROTECTIVE GEAR , for the REST of the body , when grinding / foiling / cutting out / sanding fin panels , etc . [long sleeved shirt / overalls , heavy duty shoes , cap , earplugs [ and [non-latex, if allergic] gloves , too ....
Afterwards ,,,LOTS of fresh air , vacuuming , and dusting , if doing it indoors [as I am forced to do , unfortunately ] . Air freshener/ incense burning , and as I say , through breezes in the flat = " much more betterer !!"
And , less computer time / eye strain , is probably ANOTHER factor for me to consider , for sure ! [ I have recently spent waaay too much time spent on facebook , swaylocks , and writing emails , as well as the 'occassional' blog spate , this = SORE tired eyes , and 'flickering' vision [ it's my body's warning signs , I'm SURE !!]
Anyway , cheers , guys ... for your concern , and feedback !
...I'm off to see the opthalmologist again today. I hope to be able to finish taking the eyedrops ? [ as the dilated pupil outdoors is SENSITIVE , indeed , to LIGHT ouch ...thank jee bus that it is cloudy today, at least !!]
ben
Howzit chip,Get some good eye drops or eye wash with a cup and use it a few times a day and you should be OK in a few days. I have only had it one time and I was in Mexico and just bought eye wash and it only took a couple of days and I was fine. Aloha,Kokua
Great to hear you are doing better Ben, gotta keep the photos coming! I guess we all need to "watch our eyes".
WHAT!!! Are you saying your making and grinding itchy fiberglass fins inside the living areas of your appartment?
yep ..... sorry sir Bill !
it sucks eh ?
I'm living in a block of flats , and its a covert mission , every time.... I keep it out of my bedroom ...mostly done near floor in kitchen . Or , on the balcony ... 'IF' no one around ? [ which is always a rarity in a block of flats ,though!]
cheers !
ben
chippy61, I guess we won't be seeing you makeing any SUPs or Kookboxes unless you have a big bedroom.!!!!!!!!!
A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do! Right Ben? Protect those eyes! Mike
Chippy61 I don't want to sound dumb but what is a covert mission.? I don't think we have any block of flats here on Kauai. Everyone just kind lives out under the coconut trees and the more rich people have a blue tarp or tent to keep the rain off !!
You Aussies are a crazy bunch. I can’t imagine how you can control the itch dust. Unless you do the grinding in the shower while it is running. :-)
Howzit chip. You have to be kidding,if you are cutting and foing fins in you living space You have been invaded by the itch since foing fins is one of the itchiest things you can do. I am past the itch thing but I know that I geta little irritation when I foil fins since the blanks are mostly fiberglass and it can and will get into your furniture material and it is not easy to get out. I don't know if I would sit in your living room or kitchen if I was an itchy guy. Can't at least do the foiling outside? Aloha,Kokua
Yeah Chip there’s got to be another way!! No Garage?
What about getting a 240v inverter for the car and driving out the bush to foil fins? Ha! that would be pretty Oz!!

THANKS , Bill !!
and Joe Co[c]ker wasn't even one [an Aussie] , when he wrote THAT song ! [ yes , you know the one ..."most people I know ", etc]
mr. poke-eye stick man [woody orgy] ... I think you may need a dictionary , mate !
.....maybe I should send you one for christmas ?? [or mr. wikipaedia , or google , or something ?!]
covert = similar to covered [ie: undercover / secretive]
there ya go ...
" sways , where it's not just about boardom " [get it?]

Chippy61.....The Guerilla Finner!
For covert ops, you seem to be producing a lot.
