…-machine
-Chinese un named ones
-pop outs from different Countries with bar code and silckscreened shaper s name
–I think more than lots of shapers,
the best way is to work your way with 1 real shaper or boardbuilder follow a particular design or doing a quiver
or choosing a selected ones and work 1 of the designs that this particular shaper does better
so you have the best equipment
but with a couple of boards per every shaper…you dont know exactly if the guy shapes good for you or do not
with good feedback (not too many provides good feedback) and a good shaper you can develop a very positive way to improve your surfing

An interesting topic and an opportunity for some reflection.
From the late 70s (have one of these still under the house) until today all my boards have been custom shaped by Murray Bourton. Prior to that I had one or two from Neal Purchase senior and there was a guy who used to work for Mick Carey, who shaped boards from whom I probably got a board or two. Had a couple from backyarders and got a shaped blank from David Macdonald. I think there was also a board from Eddie Sawden - but I think it was second hand.
Non stand-up boards include two boards from John Galera, a board by Paul Lindbergh and an alaia from Tom Wegener. Have just got a mat from Paul Gross and have a neumatic on order.
