zinc sunscreen

I used to use those zinc sticks on my face while surfing which really helped to completely keep the sun off areas like the nose, lips and top of forehead. These days i cant seem to find them. Did they get banned or something or just went out of fashion? Ihave used the clear sticks but they dont seem to be as good and stay on as long.

Anyone know if they still exist?

i LOVE the stuff. Put it on once at the start of the day, waterproof, and really good sun protection. Im rish scottish and french, and i do burn easy. Its called Zink Oxide sunscreen now. My favorites are Zinka Brand, Sun Bum or Blue Lizard. All can be found in nearly every surf shop at the counter, or at a drugstore like CVS. Blue Lizard is the best imo. You can go in for 3+ hours and not have to reapply. You can even buy it by the gallon jug haha

Stick with creams that have active ingredients of either Zinc or Titanium Oxide.

Best thing is to get the baby versions of the cream… Some nasty stuff in a lot of the popular sunscreens including headhunter.

I just started making my own by double boiling some cocount oil and throwing in zinc powder.

Any baby diaper rash cream with zinc----Desitin, Burts ect. 

For the cheap bastards out there.
