7'' Pautsch Double ender

Will do OG2

I had an Astron Zot and I was like yourself in trying other fins to make the board perform how I wanted. What I found was that fins with some base (gullwing was under 4") gave it the drive I wanted ,but only added to the stiffness of the boards performance in other areas.

I think the gullwing is the best compromise but not the best fin. The steadfast refusal to alter the rails dictated the gullwing fin which has a passive sort of performance to it (fin base again). [/quote]

Mono - I busted my gull wing two surfs after getting the ZOT - so dont really have a good recall of how they went - I will have to get another; interesting that you rate them so highly for this board.  I have surfed the ZOT loads and love it; I find I am addicted to the feel of the single fin on a nice overhead clean wave as you take a steep drop into the pocket (esp with the 9" dolphin).  Different to the feel of a quad or thruster... this is my first single fin and for me its a keeper.  That said, for me it is not a great allrounder - lacks especially if the surf is 1) to big ie: over head and a half high - much prefer a NUG; and 2) on slop - prefer a quad or whatever.

I also never realised what a can of worms that all the fin choice represents when you have a fin box - but lots of fun to.

For an allrounder think I will have to go for a more egg shape next time (I love Solo's board range, esp the lazer egg  and the FB); now a segway ... talking of eggs...

CUTTLE YOUR NEW BOARD IS INSANE!!!!!!!!

this has to be the coolest finish ever - DVS is a legend.  Does it float and paddle well (I know we share a common history of buying boards that we flick after realising we are missing waves or comming in early).  You must be a very happy man.  Now that you have this incredible allrounder completeing your fantastic quiver - I take it the thirst for new boards is totally quenched.......  I will miss  you at BA  (boardaholics anonymous).  OG

Finally got some photos up, but needed a new computer to do it…

Sorry about the gratuitous quiver shot, but the main photo I want to emphasise is the underside entry & belly of the McCoy, as opposed to the Revolution/Pautsch… Fat Bastard!

The photo doesn’t really show the amount of edge on the rail on the whole as opposed to the F.B, but it is considerably more all the way through.
