price? This one was actualy made to be hung in my bedroom, I didnt put a price on it but as they say "everything has its price" Got an offer?

as far as time ,,,I try but (like you say) I forget also, but if I was to guesstimate  I would figure it this way,,, I started this thread after I shaped up the blank on the 9th of Feb. and thats 3 weeks from today  so 21 days

Ive worked on it almost everyday from 2 - 6 hrs a day so lets average it to 4 hrs a day

so 21 x's 4 = 84hrs minus a few days ,,lets say 70 Hrs labor

you can do the math of the materials about $300 plus the cost of the veneer

So let me ask you,,,,, What do you think its worth?

As for Whitney,,, slow and steady wins the race!

hey Ken,

personally, i am not into wallhanging new boards, only old ones

You ask what i think it is worth? What could be interesting is to stick it on ebay at 1500$ and see what happens? if you put 300+70 hours at 10$ netto in, … 1000 buck would be reasonable.

what do you think?

i would want the money to make an even better one. I am sure you have a lot of ideas already on how to do that?

it was a fun thread, and really enjoyable, thanks for sharing!

wouter

Im glad you enjoyed the thread

for now its hung up

Thank you for appraising the Sunburst Board

Its official ,,,,,,,,,,Bidding starts at $1000.00

Ha Ha!!

Oh I made some racks to hang it

Ken-

I have absolutely no doubt that you could find someone to pay $1000 for that board… and that person would be getting a deal.  A lot of gorgous boards and fascinating build threads are posted on this forum (Wood-Ogre’s most recent comes to mind) and this board ranks right up there with the best of them.  Thanks for sharing it with us.

wouter-

veneer doesnt appeal to the youngin’s as much as the more mature crowd ;)

luckily there’s something for everyone.

but i’m taking notes…

and ken… this board surpasses all.

way to go Ken! one of the top 10 build threads for sure! board looks great!

This is a really nice one Ken!

And the outcome of the color is at its best on a dark blue ocean! (not that white wall

Chris

thanks for the comp's

Im not sure if it deserves to be in the top ten, I was trying to stay focused so much I forgot to take pics of some details of the build.

I think I will be building another hanger for a guy in the Marine's

his girlfriend is funding it and they want some Marine coat of arms and camo color

wont that be fun!

thank you too ravenna

your right about the background color , it does need to be blue

Thanks for the inspiration too create surfboard art.  Someday my goal is to make one nice enough to hang on a wall.

For now I’ll keep scratching my head trying to figure out how to get there.
