Cleanlines- it sure does seem like the older metal blades seem of better quality.
I think this new push handle one looks doable for all around shaping! Gotta get blade for da biggie.

I have four surforms that I use for different purposes.
One set with traditional blades (SM and Large)
The other set with Micro-blades. Good for triple stringers and the like.
My large surforms with the traditional blades get used a lot.
I’ve glued some foam strips along the side for added grip.
I remove the large handles.

cool… I have a surform that has the metal upturned nose, but I lost the handle…it worked well. I can’t see how sum shapers live w out em? wonder what they say when they overkill on a series of cuts? Darrel- new blank pls!
. ,dis ones toast…a surform repairs the minimal damage I do:0
#:-)@ ?that’s what I like about these things.
Barry-good idea w foam strips! Ive
Had a few close call w surform flip overz… had a sm gouge once.
I like small surforms now btw. It seems to work well for me. Just preference I think? Anyone else rely on the shorty? Tc
haha, good one Barry, great way to avoid the old trip and flip routine
Gosh - when I tried flip n my tip w spoke shave I found my little old surform WAS the ONLY tool to use for damage control… sanding forget it, planer forget it… that would just complicate things. Perhaps, once I’m better w planer I could smooth out the roughage done… but the SURFORM was the right tool for the job.
Surform #3
I found a cool small one w QUIK RELEASE BLADES MAN! Look at this thing! It has a hump - so we can use it for trimming down edges on rail bands etc… plus swap blades w turn of a dial knob! Fyi - I got this one for $7.00 shipped.I think I SCORED on it bcuz it’s brand spankin new!
