Another version of my 4th board, Sunnycomfort (Sbc thread, blast from the past)

You can see in the first shot that the profiled blank is totally square on the bottom with just the rocker and no concaves or underside of the rails.

shaping, fin plugs and beginning lamination.

if you look closely at the pics you can see i had the router template around the wrong way for one of the fin box placements.

I sketched the design in pencil and my fiance used her artisic awesomness to do the black outline for the bigger nerve endings and i did the finer small bits and filled in the outline.

Then i sealed the posca with a gloss clear coat enamel spray paint. From a can…

Yew, its 5’4" by 21" by 2 5/8" and around 32-33 ltrs

Low rocker of 3.5 in the nose and 2 in the tail.

Slight single to double that sort of ends in a V out the tail.

The quad set up is based on the Hanalie quad placements rather than the Mackee quads.

I put a box in so i can run it as a single fin.

I call it the “Sunny Comfort”, the comfy go to board for our sunny coast waves when its not to serious and a bit guttless. Hopefully it grovells and flies in a various range of conditions.

Nice job! always enjoy complete build threads.

The light blue tail color on the tail, did you use tinted epoxy?

It’s standard PE glass.

Mental graphics…I love it !!

Nice job!

How do you like those GEARBOXES?

Gear boxes are sick.

Excellent!

Blast from a little while in the past this one.

Had a single fin comp the other weekend.

The rules were had to be a pre 85 board or one you made yourself, so of course i surfed this baby.

I made it to the semis and then struggled to find a wave in that heat, kept catching crap ones.

Here are s few pics from on of the waves in the first heat.

The board got lots of positive comments.

Haha Jordy had the same problem!

I remember that board, it looks awesome.  I had forgotten it was a single fin.

VERY COOL surf pics, I especially like this one.  I just realized you’re a goofy foot, we must be brothers from a different mother lol.

Congrats on making it to the semi finals!

Thanks Huck, much appreciated

Cool pictures. I like the powerful arc you´re drawing in the last picture.

Any other home-builts show up?

Not this year, there have been a few in the past,

I have to laugh at the facial expressions on may face mid cut back.

And BTW, this really is a start to finish thread. I sold the board to fund some 1 on 1 coaching the other day so its finished for me and has started a new life with another owner who is pretty stoked on it actually.

Which is a very nice feeling.

Fantastic!  Nice that it is being used /appreciated.

Kelly giving you some pointers in his his wave pool?

I wish? Going to be one here one day.

Not quite sure where you are going with that one?
