Auslock, Auslocks AUSLOCKS!!!

shoalhaven heads - straight out in front of the surf club. Straight hander central. One of the rare better days

w4xhead, mds, beerfan - anyone keen for a surf on it - or maybe bring a camera and get some footage for the hicksy archives. This weekend looks like there’ll be something surfable on the 7 mile strip. Anyone keen for 8:30am ish - bommie carpark - let the sun get up a bit and an hour or so after low tide - could be ok?

Thanks for the feedback Quentin, maybe try it as a single and see how it goes then…

Why were your mates chuckling when you pulled it out of the bag??

Too many logos on it perhaps…

Hee Hee

yew quentin ride it with a thruster setup eg… all 4 5/8" fins. it surfs faster off the bottom and vert like that i found. : )

Heaps good that this board is still actaully moving… i feel proud to be apart of its Journey!

Hey Quentin

I’d love to, but unfortunately I have to work.

Bad thing about shift work. Can’t surf with your mates.

Good thing about shift work. Everybody else is at work.

Which would you prefer???

Cheers

flexible hours - best of both worlds.

Nah mate, i’ll be doing something relating to getting my daughters room ready for when the new baby comes. I’ve got 5 or so weeks, so im flat out gettin to the water lately, and probably for a few months. Shit, i just today got to re do a template, and do a bit of foam scratching, haven’t been in the shed for a few months before that!. Good luck, i’ve only surfed 7 mile once, but it was one of my best surfs, bit overhead ( big for me ! ), not fat, but not too steep, plenty of waves for everyone. Have fun mate.

slo6

i love it

slow 7’6 , even !

good entertainment value , watching quents take a flogging , i reckon [god knows you’ve probably done your share of chuckling at my boards and ineptitude [?word?] over the years …

[maybe you can bring it with you next easter eh ?]

have fun quents ...

and let the grunter and the brunxter loose on it , by all means !

cheers

ben

SL06 got some decent waves last weekend. Swapped the fins around to thruster config - see pic. - made a huge difference. See pics. Got a few more nice lineup shots - but gotta reduce them in size a bit.

Short explanation of the fins in the above post/pic - the tri colour ones were chopped off a Jet twin fin that Chippy found at Dunmore dump and cut down to fit FCS plugs.

The clear centre fin box fin is an early creation of Chippy’s - I call it the clear banana.

Worked pretty well in clean 2-4ft+ waves.

Attached a pic of a few other chippy fin creations - including a big black one that is a lot like the broken Auslocks fin. Should be a good replacement.

Big E swell predicted for tomorrow - tossing up whether to give the SL06 (and me) a fling down the face or take the easier road and ride my 7’0 pintail gun. Auslocks ain’t much fun to duckdive in large waves, but I think she’d like the room to move on some big Bombie faces.

Will shortly pass her on to Darren @ Culburra.

Again - thanks to Hicksy and all involved in making this a goer - quentin

onya “quents” !!

cheers maaaaate !!

Attached a couple more pix from 7/7/07. Not a bad day.

Looks like inlining the pix didn’t work real well on this occasion (see previous post).

I’ll just attach them …

Pic 1 - Simmo getting a nice little left and Auslocks wobbling off the end of a right.

Pic 2 - lineup

Pic 3 - a fairly satisfied walk back to the jump in spot - let’s do it all again

Excellent stuff Quentin!!

So pleased it’s getting used and giving smiles all round…

Thanks for the pics, keep them coming…

"Pic 3 - a fairly satisfied walk back to the jump in spot - let’s do it all again "
