The longboarder’s mini 6’8 x 23.5x 3
A well over head session a few days ago, so much fun…
Oh man - I saw the name Thrailkill, and thought Thrailkill was posting pics of a mini-simmons he made, I said that's gonna be an interesting board! - but it was just a kindly bump to restore the natural balance upset by the spammers.
When Dan’s got surfers like D Reynolds surfing his boards he doesn’t need old clowns like moie.
Thanks for the encouragement though Walter.
Great fun getting the DMS dialled in though.
Thanks Cpt, sorry for the crappy pix. It’s for my younger son who’s about 120 lbs (hence 2" thick). He took it out today in about 3-4’ Sano, says it’s real fast and loose, but it needs bigger waves to tell the story.

rough bottom rail bands on. excited. joints meet roughly, need to seal and fill, good thing the skin is quarter inch thick. further evidence for pluses of vac bagging. also tried a planer first time on this board…light speed compared to surform! would take a while to master it i can see. might try proboxes, only ever done glass ons and single fin boxes. i like this shape. coulda spooned out the nose more, the tip is an imch thick right now, thinkin i’ll ramp up the last 3 inches of rocker to thin it out
Heres some pics of my latest finished, pretty happy with it apart from the wobbly pinline! Almost looked better with no line I think but will know for next time. Really happy with the Flax cloth deck seems strong too!slight Sdeck not really visible from the pics and a single concave running out the back of the board.
Have used Fcs Plugs on this to make it possible to surf it as a Quad and also Twin with the option of moving the twins back or forward depending on the fin type etc:
What are the yellow fins? PG 5?
fcs plugs are really good for fine tuning placements especially in early stages of new designs I have found...my dim-SIM has 4 fcs plugs, 3 tabs for the keels and an additional one so it can be moved forward 1 plug to loosen it up if feels to stiff when placed right back....have dne very similar to you Nocean on a flat deck design I did a while ago..its acrually for sale atm...

Yep thats kind of what I figured with the plugs, Im hoping to pick up or make some Keels with two tabs and then I can move them back or forward depending on what the board feels like,
The front fins for the Quad setup are PG-3 fcs fins and rears are TC aqualine Quadsfins
5’2" x 22 1/4" x 3" single wing twinzer.
Those are some nice rides, hey Kirk what type of plug is the small one on your twinzer setup?Where can I get some?
different quad combo, you used that before ??? I dont do 2 tab keels, just too much pressure on plugs I think, I really hate plugs that pop or damage easily in my shapes....always 3 tabs for any bigger fins...
Yes the quad setup is a little different to what i normally do on Quads but this board was a bit of an opportunity to try some things so well see…
I was thinking of getting a three tab keel for this but they are just so damn expensive and hard to get here that I might make something, since i didnt have the plug layout for a three tab one I have just spaced them equally out so that I can also move the little fin around if I want to…
Hey Pridemore, .... Here's a tip
Bit of a heads up .......
I was / am a bit like yourself re double plug keels set ups on boards ...... till I played around with "Probox box's" ..... never looked back since !!!
Probox box's are just about undestroyable, ( spelling) and don't give a mill when set properly
I've even set up probox's with FCS plugs set in front and behind them for three tabbed fins ..... think of those variables ???
A two tab keel in a probox .... all a bit of a yawn, no stress at all with untold options
Check out an old thread of mine " Indo twinzer" I think ????? Board I put together, (amongst others) for Indo while I was over their for 4 months .... can send pic's of box's today after 2 1/2 years of travel and water time in some serious waves, no movement, no signs of stress at all ...
I love my twinzers and quads, even have a series of boards which I call "TWADS" half twinnies half quads.... jeeeze I keep saying I have to trade mark that word (lol) .... anyway you guessed it ...I run twin fins up front and smaller quards behind, all on Probox set up ......... did away with all the heart ache i was going thru
Anyway gotta go ...... If you want to try some drop me a line

I was messing around in head high surf today and put these old futures that have been shortened at the base and modified to fit probox, they had some grab but no hard drive but could really get the tail sliding and even did a few 360’s.Dropped in on a few waves, started out frontside and slid down the face sideways and spun around backwards to finish the drop, lots of out of control fun.
The keel setup I’ve been running have been insane on this boar for drive and hold and the board is so short I can still whip it around with those big fins in it,I scored a large set of solid glass twinnys from a bro today and will try them tomorrow after a few spins…
(lol).... (lol)
Definitly a case of board over powering the fins
All good fun !!!

PS Were the keels, (PB's) in the 4" or 8" ??
Are you talking about the inserts? If you are the keels were in 4 degree inserts.I surfed the big fcs twinny’s today in 6 degree inserts and the board had lots of drive and kinda carvy like the keels.I will be adding the quads in a few days, will probably run the fcs sf4’s.I’m hoping to get it dialed in as a quad because thats what I prefer to ride.
I was talking about the keel base lenghts.. 4 or 8 inch ??
