Best Board shorts?? But where now?

Another nod to Balsa Bill.

The stuff he sells he has complete control over. They are really nice.

And the cotton ones don’t chafe. I also have a pair of cord shorts;

great stuff.

Well, today I ordered my first pair of Birdwellls ("try on Britches-style 363). I hope they are as good as their rep.

For what it’s worth - having sold Birdwells the last 20+ years, worn 'em, liked 'em - go up an inch from the size ya take in a pair of Levis if you are going with the 305s, that’ll be pretty much on for the Birdies. The 363s are more a longer and baggier style, so they will be ok with the same size as you’d take in Levis.

My own Birdies are arranged by size, from the 29s I wore just after getting divorced to the 36s I was wearing just out of high school. This looks like a 32 kind of year…

hope that’s of use

doc…

i have had balsa bills, katins,etc., but the most comfortable and durable have been patagonia surf shorts-not the baggie ones but the more traditional cut/length/style.been wearing them for years, and have some that are 10 +years old and still going strong.the malloys, who now work for patagonia ,are coming out with a really nice line of boardshorts for patagonia-comfortable, durable and functional.i think they will be available by june…

I’m not sure about that brand, but I do know that my surfing buddy has been trying to get me to buy a pair of Ripyard boardshorts. Does anyone buy that brand? Do they kling when they are wet? That is literally my biggest pet peeve. I’m looking for a soft, moveable pair. Any advice would help. Thanks!
