I guess there isn’t much room for the little guy in out of the way places…
I have phoned, emailed and otherwise contacted four of the companies that sell blanks but have yet to hear from one of them. I started this process 6 weeks ago.
I did get a call from ___ a few weeks back, he sent me straight to _____ ________, who I have not heard from since that initial call three weeks ago.
Funny that he called me again…but it was to answer to the original email.
Ya might think that even selling three lousy blanks/glass/resin/fin boxes/fins would be worth it, even with the box charge and the handling charge and the shipping charge but I guess not.
Surfinghigh - check out www.pauhanasurfsupply.com. They have everything you’ll need plus they’ll ship to any Fastenals Supply Store. Go to www.fastenals.com to find one near you. The shipping is relatively good too. So just order from Pau Hana and pay and p/u at Fastenals. Last time I checked they had Bennett and Just Foam poly blanks, and Marko and some other brand of EPS. They also have all the glassing stuff you’ll need too if I’m not mistaken. I used to live close to the US Blanks warehouse in Florida, but now I’m in the boonies in Norcal, so they are a must for me. Good folks too, they won’t treat you like a kook. Don’t give up! Check 'em out and let us know what shakes out if you would …
[b][i][u]So to you blank companies, f*ck off man, I tried.

Telling people to Fuck off is a bad start when you are a newbie. A location would be nice like a major city or country. Please adjust your user profile. You were looking for help…right?
Lot’s of info on Swaylock’s on how to make your own blank and lot’s of companies willing to ship blanks world wide.
Would you like me to find some links to companies that might be willing to help you get blanks? Swaylock’s has members world wide. I’m amazed at the stuff being built at some very remote locations.
After exchanging a couple of PMs I know where SH lives and he’s in luck. There is a Fastenal location right in his town. Pau Hana deals directly with Ken Ebert at Segway so once all the details are coordinated, shipment of even big blanks should be around 25.00 each to the Fastenal store.
I’ve shipped a few items recently and that is a great deal on shipping!
Be patient but persistant… small companies with just a couple guys doing all the leg work can’t be everywhere at once.
Pau does have the blanks I need (AB 10’2" CPLB) and I heard also they are a small operation. I contacted them first weeks ago but never heard back after three messages and at least 5 emails.
Since the blanks are made by Segway, I went to the site and called Ken, left a message and emailed.
A few days later, he called and said get a hold of Pau.
Ok.
This is a big deal to me, once every few years I get to shape a few boards for myself and friends. We dont live in Surf City. There are no surf shops within 100 miles of me let alone resources for blanks, glass or epoxy. We are not in a position to experiment. We aint building state of the art compsand super-techno boards, just simple longboards albeit in epoxy.
This year, we pooled our money and were going to build stand ups because we cant buy them up here, hell, we have never seen one in person. (ST’s dont count)
We wanted the blanks in July, we first tried ordering them in early June, its now August.
We might be just a tad frustrated, eh?
Count your blessings that most of you have access to these materials.
Well, we are going out in the woods today and cutting down some tree’s for our new stand up boards, gotta be a blank in that Redwood somewhere…
Once you fell the tree, you are going to have to get the log out of the woods, then get it cut into lumber which is going to have to set for 4 or 5 months to dry out. If I were you I would just buy a block of foam and cut myself a few blanks. Or contact Foam Fins and Fiberglass, Scott will help you I’m sure. No matter what that foam blank cost you to by and get shipped I’m sure it is going to be way less trouble that that Redwood tree and it would be nice to save a tree. Just my take on this.

You know what they say, “you get what you pay for”. Most of the companies advertise low prices (by a few pennies or so) but it’s the service you want to be careful of. You can be guaranteed that when you call or email us with questions or you place an order we get right on it. We treat every customer the same whether he is Rich Harbour or the first time guy calling from some remote town in North Carolina. We do have all the supplies (shaping and glassing) in stock so we ship out same or next day depending on when your order is placed. The one thing we cannot control is the shipping costs, fuel prices is the determinant for that. The best deal for shipping with us is to place your order all at once. Meaning if you order multiple blanks and all the supplies at the same time the shipping is very reasonable. For more details on our shipping check out the “shipping” button on our top nav bar. We ship to anywhere in the US, so your location will not be challenging for us. We do it all the time.
I hope this helps give you a great option when you want to purchase.
